Now the Duck War is (mostly) over, what now?

This post sums up the situation:

Land borders are set, and (nearly) everyone's satisfied with the terms of peace.

So, since it's nice to have a thread to burn free time, what shall we do now? The wargaming thing was enjoyable (if unstructured), so it'd be nice if it were centered around that. I don't have any real ideas, except this:

Chess RISK

It would work basically the same as regular RISK, except for how combat would play out; each soldier represents a Chess game.

Let's say Smith is playing as Blue and thus holds 4 soldiers in North Africa. Now, this is a solid holding, but let's suppose he invades Western Europe with 3 soldiers. He first announces the attack (literally just saying, "I attack Western Europe with 3 soldiers), then performs the attack itself. That is performed by playing the current holder of Western Europe, Jim, in a series of Rapid/Blitz games (10 minutes maximum, 3 minutes minimum) less than or equal to the number of soldiers involved- 5 at the most. Each game you lose, you also lose a soldier in whatever territory is involved in the attack- so if Smith loses game 1, he's down to 2 soldiers in the attack; this means that, unlike in regular RISK, you can lose all 3 involved soldiers in an attack if you use that many. The attack ends when the attack is entirely repelled (all attacking soldiers have been lost), the defense has been defeated (all defending soldiers have been lost), or the attacker calls off the attack (he does not regain any lost soldiers). Everything else is exactly the same (unless there's another area of the game that uses dice, if so you can point that out- if we end up doing this -and I'll think of something).

Of course, this is only one idea, and any proposals are encouraged until the "milking thread" is decided.
