A few months ago I was the goalkeeper (football). There was a shot on goal, but I thought it went next to the goal. So I raised my hands, smiled to my team mates and turned to that side of the goal to pick up the ball.
Then I saw I stood almost at the other post, totally in wrong position and that the ball was going slowly in the corner. In the goal.
I looked again to my team mates. Raised again my hands, but now I did not smile. I apologized.
Just a random funny chess story with me being the sucker..
Sometime ago I played in a livetournament 10 mins <1200. I had won my first four games and not often have I played for the first spot! My fourth game was done pretty quickly so I checked the news a bit when I heard the *bleep* that started my final match. I was white and lately I like to open with d4 and so I did. At the same time I typed "prepare to meet your doom!", only to discover that the bleep was the signal that I ran out of time..
