I don't even know who created this thread. It looks like the creator deleted his original comment. (or he got deleted, lol)

I agree fundamentally with what you say. I like random designs and colors for the pieces and the squares on the checkered board, but refer to the players as “The Initial” and ”The Subsequent”. For the pieces, I would refer to the king as “short range prize”, the queen as “tridimensional long range mover”, the bishops as “unidimensional diagonal monochromatic long range mover 1” (and 2), the knight as “unique bichromatic short range mover 1” (and 2), the rook as “bidimensional long range mover 1” (and 2), and pawns as “patriotic heroes who would never disrespect the flag”

I submit that the Pawns should be referred to as "translationally challenged multitudians".

I like the name, but I think it needs to be subject to a general election. I want to draw the maps for all of the voting districts.

a) This is an extremely childish thread.
b) And I'm sure at some future time the meme will go round of "Have you heard? They even want to change 'white' and 'black' in chess now? Political correctness gone mad!"

This thread is lol

December_TwentyNine

This thread is all about stupid nonsense!!! I know I am crazy for commenting on this ridiculous matter. We have to bring politics onto chess.com.

Racism is false. Because we are all HUMANS. Races are Orcs, Dragons, Elves, Gnomes, and such. We are all Humans, the last time I checked. The human race.

Black this and White that!!! Of course, the OP is an American, to bring this dumb bass topic up on chess.com. Get the Truck outta here with this Hit.

I hope some moderator comes along and just tosses this trash into that big blue can that sits along the street, for that truck to come pick up along every Thursday morning!!!

Yu-Hopkins

Couldn’t you find more overused topic than this to troll?

K0ED0E

Amazing how many idiots jump right in with their narrow minded attitudes in stead of actually reading the content of the thread before commenting.
And for those without a sense of humour: just get a life....

December_TwentyNine

Yes, thank you my dear. I am stupid for commenting on tis thread, at all. regardless whatever I said. This thread needs to be deleted; because it contributes to nothing.

K0ED0E

Interesting argument - so anything that does not "contribute" to something in your opinion, should be deleted? Even if the contribution is to humor / entertainment or even purely conversational? The question can then actually be asked if the chess.com site should even exist, because what does it really contribute to society?

December_TwentyNine

Well hunnie, this is an interesting argument. To clarify, I'm tired of hearing about Racism. And the Fake News. And Bacon Lettuce Mayonnaise. You are correct - this thread did not contribute to MY opinion, and therefor, according to a cartoon girl - myself- yes, it should be deleted - because I simply don't like what it's in reference to. Now - if this contribution is to humor, entertainment and conversation, then - well - I guess it won't be deleted, then. The question if this very site contributes to society is another topic at hand. Now my darling, I invite you to continue this argument. Perhaps with my American mind I have missed something in this passage. Your thoughts below.....

K0ED0E

The point dearest, is that people see the topic and assume they know the content. Anybody who knows how to play chess (which should basically be anyone viewing a thread on this site), should immediately spot the satire in the topic and know that it is not a serious discussion....

December_TwentyNine

Ah well. I just got owned. It's going to happen sometime.

I get that it's a joke, but possibly what you do not get is that joking about how descriptions of systemic racism is just political correctness (gone MAD!!1!) is a big part of the problem. The current protests are imploring people to take this issue seriously for once and help make changes to make society more equitable, and make institutions like the police and others more accountable.

In this context, jokes are not benign; the alt right is constantly trying to make jokes like these, to belittle the movement and distract from the actual data and arguments.

December_TwentyNine

Hunnie, Koedoe was merely fact-checking my comments. Of course this is a matter I wouldn't agree to make jokes about. All jokes aside, Make police accountable? YES. But to "defund" the department? Here we go again!!! They use these words, and the Fake News doesn't explain exactly by what they mean by them!! Tell me dear. What happens when you "defund" a police department? Does it cease to exist, because it has no funding to operate? Is that what they want?

TheHarbingerOfDoom
What you forget koedoe is that all tho it may be intended As satire it will be politicised by the small minded factions of the right wing and left wing. And let’s just hope the centrists don’t get involved or this really will become a mire of ten levels of excrement
Yu-Hopkins

It’s not funny when the joke is repeated so many times that it makes you cringe.

December_TwentyNine

This is a real life issue that Americans for sure are going to have to face, the rest of the world may follow. This is a HUGE political debatable subject. Koedoe seems like a very sensible gentleman, perhaps he'll come back and fact-check both of us, Harbinger.

TheHarbingerOfDoom
I agree with you whole heartedly December
