Nice story, thanks for sharing!
This is something you definitely need to tell if you're teaching a kid Chess!

Now if I'd only have a kid...
....... now what do i say?... do i really have to say anything on this?

or you could just quote john lennon and tell the kid "if you want to be with the folks on the hill, you have to learn to smile when you kill"

Now if I'd only have a kid...
....... now what do i say?... do i really have to say anything on this?
No. And upon retrospective ponderance, it would've probably been best if I hadn't said anything either. Comments such as mine have a bad tendency to come out wrong :)
Yeah... so here goes the story like this:
Once there lived two kingdoms- the White kingdom and the Black kingdom. The kings of both the kingdoms were powerful, but used mostly their army to fight battles, and it was only sometimes that they came forward themselves. Both the White and Black kingdom were generally at war against each other. The queens, being very fond of their husbands, worked the most for protecting the kings. They were considered second in power to the king.
Now their armies consisted of many creatures, all protected by little soldiers. They had elephants, who were mostly straightforward and truly powerful. The camels thought a little out of the box and chose an alternate way of battling. The horses were too fast for anything, and mostly liked to skip away their problems and obstructions. They were masters at attacking, somewhat even better than the queens, and were tricky to get hold of.
Now that the king was the most important, and so was given maximum respect. He was second to none, and of infinite importance. The queen was a bit lower at the level, but was greater than everyone else, in might and importance. The elephants came next, being the heaviest and masters at crushing. The horses and camels were quite similar, and so, kept equal. The little soldiers had the lowest post, but were awarded if they successfully reached the depth of the opponent army.
The main aim was to not allow the king to die or be in danger. If the king died, all was done for the kingdom. That is what, actually, YOU are supposed to do. You are to take the side of one kingdom in random, and do your best to fight the opponent army and save your king. That is all about Chess! Battle! Think! Win!

So? I bet it IS essential for teaching the basics to someone! Please don't feel shy to comment. They are all welcome! :) Hasta la vista!
