Which pieces would you prefer? #2

Which pieces would you prefer in this position as white, assuming that they can be anywhere in the starting position with black to move.

NOTE: Position has to be legally reachable.

Choices:

A - 2 Bishops

B - Bishop + Knight

C - 2 Knights

D - Rook + Pawn

VULPES_VULPES

Since the white king is in check, one piece has to be interposing the bishop in order to have a valid position.

rook and pawn offers really the only good chance of winning (generally speaking)...since there's no obvious win as with the other options and the rook+pawn represent some kind of dynamic material imbalence to make the position more interesting, but bla bla bla bla bla, it depends on the position, since you can set the configuration of pieces to win for you immediately, the usual garbage stuff..... zzzzzzzzz

Rd5/Pf5 wins a piece

Rc7/Pf5 seems a bit more accurate :)

I would want a rook + pawn, in this position:

You and your precision. Smile

just realized the 2 ppl above me were saying the same thing

Macer, clifton is laughing at you, Be7 holds for black.

I am laughing at you too.

chasm1995

I want a rook and a pawn.

Mainline_Novelty

He said it'd be Black to move after we place the pieces though...

No, my comment was for MainlineNovelty. Smile

In that case, then, I want the rook on c7 instead.

You say Black to move, but your diagram says White to move, you may want to clear that up lol! Otherwise, Rd5 and Pf5 (assuming its Black to move)

VULPES_VULPES

Sorry... I do that a lot...
