Hmm, we're looking at different positions. If 26 Nf7 Rxf7 27 Bxf7 Kxf7 there is no pawn on e3, the pawn is still on e4. Click on the game after Black's 25th move (25 ... Raf8) and you'll see that the Black pawn is still on e4

This gives opportunities from a positional exchange in which you pressurize the d6 pawn with Bishop C6 after which your rook angles down on the d file. If black defends with king you double rooks

@Arankaaa, I see you've mastered quotation now!
Even on move 27, I don't like Nf7 - Black has the zwischenzug 27 ... exf2+ then 28 ... Rxf7 etc. Maybe I'm wrong and White is actually winning for some reason despite having 2 rooks v rook + 2 Bishops - I'd like to hear what @ghost_of_pushwood has to say.
I sort of like the idea of 23.f3

26.Nf7 is a terrible move, it is losing from a dominating position. there is nothing to explain.
