A Fatal Miscalculation

Here is a game I feel I played extremely well right up to the end.  I was quite happy with my play, and had the upper hand until I made a fatal miscalculation at the very end of the game (which is, by nature, where fatal miscalculations always occur).

It's pretty clear to me where this game was lost, however I would still appreciate any feedback on my play in general.  There were a few spots where I struggled for the right move and I've tried to highlight these in the game annotation.  I'd love to know where I could have played better, and what I might be able to focus on to improve my play in general so I've posted it here for review.

Incidentally, it was impossible to resist 1. e4.

29. Qxf6 is best because the mate is very close. On a Qa7, Qe6+ Qf7 Qxf7# wins. Qb7 loses because the bishop can simply take it, QxR then QxQ is just a monstruous advantage for white and the knight is still hanging. The only other move is Rc7 but then Qd8 is also mates.

So it does.  I smelled blood when he disconnected those rooks but just didn't follow through properly.  I really dropped the ball later though.

After 29. Qxf6 Qa7, 30. Bxb6 would be fatal for black. Regardless, I thought you played excellently up to that point.

Sorry for being off topic but those black lines going through all the chess pieces in your post  are unacceptable and very annoying.

What you talking about? Maybe it's your engine that has graphical problems, in any case it is not his fault.

Thanks guys, I obviously need to take a little more time with some of my tactical analysis during my games.

Any other insight into the rest of my play, aside from my miss on 29 and my blunder at the end would be much appreciated.  In particular, my opening and early middle-game and the moves I've cited as having struggled with.

In the opening black may have looked cramped, but he was actually, IMO, amassing his pieces on the queenside since you kingside was not good for castling.
