Exactly 102 years ago ... chess does weird things to people!

I guess he thought he was a martyr or something, and people wou respect him if he retired. but not on a high point that's for sure.

I remember reading that story in the Fireside Book when I was young!  So great to be able to see the game he was writing about now.
