his 13th move was definitely unlucky for him!  after bxf6 I don't think you would have  had much  but you played very nicely after that.  Instead On 13 i think you could have won a pawn with Nx e5 dxe5 nxf6 ch bxf6 bxb ?

Yes, your opponent played badly and that's why you won. You have to play the position, you can't just play Kh2,Rg1,h3,g4 and hope something will come of it. If you opponent had reacted by opening up the centre with a well timed d5 you probably would have lost.

Also, when he weaken his h6 pawn you attacked it with Bc1 but after he played Kh7 why didn't you just keep attacking it with Qd2?

Thanks for your comments . I actually missed Qd2 , a type of mistake which can cost me a game . I was looking for a nicer combination when I missed the simplest one ( this is actually a trend - i keep missing "quiet" moves ) . Would you say that Kh2,Rg1,h3,g4 combo is bad for me if my opponent played better ? I didn't think that I was ruining my position by it .

It's bad for you. I think you try too hard when there are just simple moves available. Like on move 3 you played b3 intending Bb2, Why? Just play d4 and develop your bishop when it a nice square to go to.

you capitalized on an opponent blunder, i see no harm there :)

I agreed you took advantage of a mistake of the opponent's plan and won the game.

ugly chess? I think your development up until the ninth move is quite the opposite. After castling moving your king and rook wouldn't be my advise, but you won by doing it so who am I to criticize. The only thing I miss is exchanging pawns for position, it's just too peaceful:p you can't get all pieces into play without moving some pawns out of the way.

You capitalized on a blunder, but if he had opened up the center, where most of his pieces were situated, he probably would have won.

I like your play. You certainly don't play "ugly chess" (what an idea !). Your opponent probably didn't defend very well, but then, you build a nice attack and won.

Why not play stronger opponents, and analyze some losses ?
