I recently played in the first leg of an under - 14 tournament. ( scoring 4.5/6 ) before i play the second leg ( tommorow ) could someone please analyze my blunders and tell me my mistakes ?

ROUND - 1

i forgot to write down the moves :P

ROUND - 2

ROUND - 3

this was my only loss . i was shocked (  i lost against a 1280 rated player!!!! )

as i do not have much time , ill skip round 4 & 5.( won both of them.) round 6 is the important thing - i drew ( draw by agreement ) and want to know if it is a drawable position -

In the last game I think you got more than good drawing chances baced on blacks underdeveloped kingside, unless there is something imediate tactical blow that Im missing. You can play e6 to try and lock down his kingside, you can play on the c file, all your pieces stand well while black is struggeling to coordinate. I think you might even stand better.

Round 2

Your move 18 is a blunder.  Your idea, to clear the way for your rooks to get to the b file, is excellent.  But you overlooked white's tactic of checking and winning your g pawn.

Dan Heisman and others drum it into us that we must always look at opponent's opportunities to check, threaten or capture.  Sometime the threat moves are hard to spot, but running over all enemyy checks and captures before finally deciding to go ahead with a candidate move is a good idea and easy enough to do.

Good luck. :)

Thanks for your support. Here are my replies:

Tommy :- i was a pawn down, you see. i was so excited to be in the top 20, that i immediately accepted. ( im still a newbie at tourneys.)

Paulgottlieb :- your advice was quite useful. ill keep it in mind if i play the tourney next sunday ( Smt. Anjali memorial - http://vazesports.com/index.html on the right. )

johnyoudell - my mind went crazy during the 2nd half of the tourney. after an amazing start of 4.5/6, i went down to 5.5/9.

i seriously thought i was retarded in my second game ( 8th overall) i trapped my opponent's knight , then let it escape :O

ive been training though, hopefully it'll pay off
