I am low on the totem pole for an average, but I will play. First I would like to say what a pleasure seeing only two pawns missing with all of those moves, rare for me. Okay to business. I am undecided about castling, but presently leaning right, but would prefer to wait a move or so to help determine which way.  Ne7 can easily be brought under attack by two pieces with a bishop move by white, and I only have one minor piece defending (along with the king). So my move is Nb6. This opens up the seventh rank and now my Queen is also protecting Ne7, and Nb6 can potentially be brought to c4 threatening Q, B, And b2.  Now going to go read everyone else's replies.

I would castle kingside, but castling queenside is probably just as good.

I would play h4, to force a decision on the kingside, and only then decide, probably queenside, except maybe not because of the hook on c6

Block him that;s it

JackRoach

Blocked. I've seen him in other threads spamming stuff that's completely irrelevant.

This is a game I played with high accuracy, do you suggest any other moves than the ones I played? Can you please message those moves directly to me if so.

You’d think a 1700 would have more class.

@JackRoach honestly I'm very undecided. I want to break on the kingside with h5 or f5, so I should castle queenside but I also really like to push b5 on the queenside.

Another confusing factor is that White is seemingly dominating the kingside, so castling there is dangerous. So I came up with the plan h6,f6,Kf7, but then White break with g5.

Then what? Hey, I will break with 1...c5! I don't know if that's foolish or not, but that's my final decision.

What's wrong with just Kd8?... and later on, Kc8 if needed.

That dodges White's K-side attack, and keeps the a8-Rook (and the b7-Pawn) available to attack White's King.

What's with this fixation on castling, anyway?
