Hey guys, I'm kinda new to this chess game, and I thought I played a decent game here as black; I still lost though and I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me why. Thanks for any help!

pretty wild game, your opponent had no idea what he was doing

So, what'd I do wrong to lose to an opponent who had no idea what he was doing? :P

Very true! Can't believe I didn't think of just moving my rook up to counter the Queen's check hah, thank you for the help! Did I make any mistakes before that, however? Or is that when I really lost the game?

10. ... Ke7? This loses a piece. 10. Nxf6 was necessary.

11. a3?

White could have won a piece by 11. Nxg8+ or 11. Ne5 followed by 12. exd6.

18. ... Ke6?

Kg7 looks safer to me.

5. ... Qg5

As evidenced from the game, bringing the queen out early tends to be counter productive because you'll often have to move it around a lot to keep it safe. These are moves you could be using to get all the forces in your army mobilized.
