Approaching 1200, good game, tell me how I could do better

As I approach 1200 I played a good game today and I’m not sure what I missed that would’ve made it better. This might not be a great game to asses because my opponent blundered his queen but it was after putting him under a lot of pressure. Maybe it’d be better to focus on what I did before that?? I’m sure I could’ve done a lot better but I just want to see what the thought processes / pattern recognitions are that I am missing.

My puzzles score is a lot higher but maybe I don’t spot the same opportunities in games.

Looking forward to what people analyse.

I, posting 5is on iPad so I’m not sure if this will work correctly...

Post a loss.

Do your own analysis.

What you posted shows absolutely no effort.

No worries, that’s a fair comment but I actually was thinking a lot - maybe that’s why I thought it was a great game but to somebody much higher rated it looked effortless! I’ll find another game

Thank you for being mature enough to handle constructive criticism!  Its a rarity around here.  Good Luck!

I hope KetoOn1963's comment saying "what you posted shows absolutely no effort" solely refers to the lack of effort made in the post itself (no self analysis etc.), rather than suggesting your play in the game was effortless. Do not get discouraged by thinking you need to post higher quality games to cater to the standards of higher rated players. It would be difficult to ever improve using that approach! Whatever was a hard fought game for you, preferably a loss, is worth analyzing yourself before asking for feedback on it.

Yes, that is exactly what i meant by my comment.  And on the subject of doing your own analysis.  As outofbook said.  Keep it simple.

Keep track of your ideas, plans, thoughts, strategies, what you think your opponent is trying to do?  Even something as simple on move 1:  "I am trying to control the center" is an immense help.  All you're doing is giving others some insight into your thought process.

Yeah, we need to know how you’re thinking to give you better alternatives to your given moves. You should play the game with a strategy (control the center, pressure the queenside, rip open lines of attacks). Moves are just the vehicle by which you effectuate your strategy.

I'm almost 1200 and I found pogchamp analysis really constructive especially the competitive bracket. Gm are analyzing most game without being too technical

For your game, I feel like your b1 knight was too often completely on the left, the pawn around your king were also weaken. Unfortunately, your opponent took his queen out too early and you pressured it really well.
