Best move for white ?

So, this is one of my live games, I was playing heavelly disturbed by my kids, but game was great fun anyway. I won by checkmate, from seemingly  lost position.

Anyway - here is position from where it became really interesting :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, what was the best answer by white ?

White is pretty lost already by move 36.  I think his best hope is to offer a rook - Rc2.  Either knight takes or queen takes might give white some breathing room to regroup.  I haven't looked at it, but I'm sure 36. Rc2 Nf3+ is probably still killing for black.  White is just lost here.  Good game!
