bishops or knights?

knights would be my favorite pieces in the begining but at the end they can't 2 knights can't checkmate
:) i've tried

rich> Didn't think two bishops could mate.
Sure they can, with the help of their king. Check out this endgame where I mate with a king and two bishops against a king and four pawns. A bishop and knight can also mate a lone king with some difficulty, but two knights cannot.

Bishops hav more movement, knights r annoying as they can fork easier...
note this: which piece do u move first, knight or bishop... most ppl say knight so theortically, knights r more popular!!

When you get yourself into a position where you have 2 bishops and no king you be sure to let us all know about it.
"i mean like there has 2 be some difference on the points scale"
According to Lary Kauffman's acclaimed The Evaluation of Material Imbalances the inherent different is less than 0.02 pawns, which means positional considerations (like an open or closed board) outweigh any theoretical difference in piece values.
"there is no right or wrong ... i will take bishops."
There are always grey areas, but in most positions the four minor pieces on the board are not equal, and having a hard preference for bishops or knights will lead to losses.
