Can someone explain me how this is a stalemate but not a checkmate

stalemate cause white cant move

Yea the game looks like it should've been a win for black, but as it is if it's White's move, it's stalemate as White's king isn't in check but no white pieces can move. If its blacks move it should be checkmate on that move. This is all assuming we are looking at the board from blacks point of view with black playing up the board and white playing down the board.

Both a checkmate and a stalemate prevent the opponent from being able to make a legal move.

 

The small difference of a check will make the difference between a win and a draw.
