Check vs Checkmate

Hi, i just confused with Check and Checkmate, please go to move 23, if i take enemy bishop it gives check state while in opponent turn, he will take my rook so checkmate. Since my opponent didnt take that move, im curious to know about it. Suppose if the opponent use that move? white will lose? ignoring check state in black? or taking the rook is forbidden?

If you are in check you MUST do something about it before doing any other move. If you can't do anything, it's checkmate. So your opponent couldn't checkmate you, he wasn't allowed to.

Otherwise, hypothetically, on the next move white takes black's king and wins, before black can take the white king.

Your opponent was in check by your Queen and therfore had to legaly remove or cover the check.

Luckily on your next move you took his rook or he would have had Checkmate then.

oo thank you, i were curious about that. one more thing need to be clarify, is it also works in real life tournament? i know telling "check" is not important so that if your opponent didnt know his situation and he made wrong move? so we are allowed to take his king in next turn?

He would have to take back his move. I think that the king is really taken in a blitz game, but not in general games.

Given the quality of play you exhibited, I find your question curious and a bit suspect.  Many of your moves rely on the fact that check must be dealt with immediately.  What are you driving at?

yeah i was curious about that situation, i asked my opponent to try to take my rook in order to test what happen after that, but he didnt take my rook. anyway thanks for the information :)

Reply 1: Whaaat?  Reply 2: There might be something else in the game that needs to be checked out!

If you're in check you can't make any move that doesn't take you out of check.

That aside I have to go with silentfilmstar here after looking at your other finished games. Not only do you play very good but you use the fact that you have to break check right away in alot of moves.

Yeah what's with a 1500+ rated player asking such a fundamental question? Hmm.
