[COMPUTER ANALYSIS]: What does positive/negative means?!

Hello Guys,

I am trying to improve my game and thus tried to use Computer Analysis.

But I am faced with following texts and require your help:

  • (+Mat01) FORCED_MATE - Bad news! Things were even and then suddenly you're faced with checkmate. You could have kept it even with 3... Bxf5
  • (13.51) BLUNDER - Well at least you have escaped a forced checkmate!
  • (+Mat02) FORCED_MATE - Now checkmate is inevitable. Your best defense was 6... Qxd6
  • (+Mat04) FORCED_MATE - You can force checkmate with 7... Kxc6
  • (+Mat01) FORCED_MATE - Your opponent can now force checkmate. You should have played 22... bxc3+
  • (+Mat01) FORCED_MATE - Sad! You were winning and now you are facing an unavoidable checkmate. Your best continuation was 37... Bb2
  • (-30.01) BLUNDER - Lucky you! Your opponent blundered! The best move was 49. Kxe2
  • (-73.17)

What does it mean when there's a positive value? And what does a negative one means? What does Mat01, Mat02, Mat03, Mat04 mean!? In how many moves you can mate? Surprised

Greetings,
Benzo

+.50 = 1/2 half pawn advantage for white

+1.00 = 1 pawn advanatge for white

-.50 = 1/2 pawn advantage for black

-1.00 1 pawn advantage for black

The Positive Sign (+) means White has an advantage. The Negative Sign (-) means Black has an advantage.

That is how it works in Computer Analysis to see which side is better in positional, tactical, slightly better, much better and winning. Chess Engines can sometimes be incorrect and most of the time be correct.

It was absolutely worth it to revive a 7-year-old topic for this valuable information. Too bas that it was already answered, also 7 years ago.
