Confused by the engine's critique! 🤯

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit puzzled by a recent move I made. On move 24, I found a fork to the opponent's king and rook that seemed quite promising. I was under the impression that it was a "best", if not "great", move.

However, after reviewing the game with chess.com's engine, it rated the move as a "miss". When I explored the engine's suggested moves, it revealed a scenario where I only gained a pawn.

I'm hoping someone can help me understand why my original move was considered a miss?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Your move was good but the computer can see a lot farther. If you read through the analysis, it shows you that your fork only gets you 2 points of material while a 10+ move sequence starting with 24.. Qb4+ gets you 4.

You shouldn't feel bad about playing the fork.

I believe, this move is not that bad, it's the simplest way to win material. The move that computer considers the best is too complicated
