Could black have won?

So I just had this game where I made some mistakes in the opening and black went on the offense, but blundered by missing a forced checkmate combination and lost the game. My question is - could black have forced a checkmate somewhere? I am aware of the fact that black could have won with the material advantage. Some analysis would be welcome :) The notes are there to reflect my impression when I played the game and does not really mean the moves were the best.

At move 27. Kd3 Ba6+

Forces something to be placed on c4, eliminating the King's escape route.

28. c4 Rbd8+

King can't move so the Queen must be put in the way.

29. Qd5 Rxd5

30. exd5 Qxd5 (c is pinned)

White now has Kc2 or Ke2 and I suspect can be forced into mate. I went through most of the lines but I can't figure out how to post them here.

Why was the white king in the center of the board anyways?
