French Defense Question!

In this line of the Tarrasch, after 4.Ngf3, what is black's best course of action? I am just confused, because looking at the win rates with the Explore tool, it seems both of these most played lines are just losing for black. Should a previous move not have been played? Or am I just incorrectly expecting Sicilian win rates from non-Sicilian defenses? My thinking is that the French is the third most played reply to 1.e4, so it can't be that bad, right? Keep in mind that I am a beginner.

Should I just give up on the French and bite the bullet to fully learn the Sicilian? The only reason why I focused on the French was because it just felt the best when I tried out the most played openings, and I felt the most comfortable with it. I have already learned a lot of lines for both sides in the French, it kind of feels like a waste to just learn a different opening for black, so I guess I'm suffering from the sunk cost fallacy.
