So we all know about this thread:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/read-this-before-you-post

But it got spoiled by spamming and trolling

So let's start one ourselves

Welcome to the Game Analysis forum

The purpose of this forum is improvement at chess!  We can all improve at chess when we share meaningful questions and examples from our past losses, draws, and a few of our wins.  In order to get the most out of posting your game at the analysis forum, follow these guidelines:

1.  Annotate your game yourself before you post!  By annotate we mean the addition of your thoughts, commentary, and possible variations.  In order to receive accurate feedback, we must know what you were thinking as you played the game, and what you think of it now.  It often happens that a right move was made for the wrong reason: knowing your thought process is the only way to bring this to light!

2.  Post a lot games that you lost, a few that were draws, and on occasion those that you won.  While it is more fun to gloat over our wins than suffer under our losses, we learn the most when we review our losses.  If you really want to post a game where you crushed your opponent, consider the game showcase forum.

3.  Don't look at a chess engine for analysis until after you have analyzed the game with others at chess.com; the same goes for those reviewing.  If you are adding analysis found with the aid of a chess engine, make it known.

4.  In addition to your thoughts, commentary, and possible variations, here are some of the most common symbols for annotating a chess game:

!!    An extremely strong move, often game winning.

!     A great move

!?    A speculative move, possibly strong but more analysis is needed.

?!    A dubious move, prossibly weak but more analysis is needed.

?     A bad move

??    A blunder, equivalent to hanging a piece.

+-   White is winning.

+/- White has a significant edge.

+/= White has a small edge.

=     Equality.

=/+  Black has a small edge.

-/+  Black has a significant edge.

-+    Black is winning.

5.  Never post a game or a position from a game that is ongoing.  Asking for help with ongoing games is unsportsmanlike and unethical.  Need we say more?

I didn't have many games to post.

Unless you want to analyze this one:

My opponent just played trash.

Good, I will certainly post a game or two in near future... I know I am but a humble player, playing chess recreationally, making lots of mistakes, nevertheless this feature suits me. Thanks ! happy.png

So, I'm new to this forum so I don't know how to put notes in my games.  But I did want to share this interesting game I played, so I'll put my notes here.   Yesterday for fun, I played an unrated 10 minute game.  I won, but it wasn't so boring.  In my opinion, it was actually a very interesting game, me having 84 percent computer accuracy and my opponent having 92 percent computer accuracy.  And this is good, considering I'm only an 898.  I am playing white, and am playing the King's Indian Attack.  My opponent, CHILB3RT is playing black and the Dutch Defense.
10. Re1  Bb7
Setups complete.
13. exf5  Bxg2  14. Kxg2  gxf5
I make what could be a mistake, allowing my light squared bishop to be taken and forcing my king to exit the back rank.
17. dxe5  Nxe5
I hang the knight on g5, focusing on putting pressure on the e5 square, which I control.  Threatening to take the knight and attack the queen.
19. Rxe8  Rxe8
I make a small mistake, taking the rook on e8.  Should have taken the hanging f5 pawn, but decided to simplify. I was thinking I was already in a good position, and up a knight.
21. h4  Rd8
Decide to defend knight on g5.  Know I am outnumbered, but would help.  Knight gets pinned.
22. Qe2  Bxg5
Remove pin, and they take.  Make large mistake here, hanging rook on a1.
23. hxg5  Qxa1
Take back, then queen takes rook.
24. Qe6+  Kf8 and 25. Qxf5+  Ke7
Am able to win two pawns here,
27. Qd3+  Ke7
Apparently, according to the computer, queen d3 is a blunder.  Poorly made decision, but I don't see how this is a blunder
30. Qe6+  Rd7 31. Qe8+  Rd8 32. Qe6+  Rd7
A bit of repetition with checks here, but not enough for a draw.  Don't really know why I did this, maybe hoping black would blunder or make a mistake.
33. Ne4  Qb2 34. Nf6  Qxc2+ 35. Kh3  Qd3 36. Nxd7  Qxd7 37. Qxd7  Qxd7+
Here I want to put pressure on the pinned rook, but get my pawn threatened.  I decide to finish with the knight, even though I lose my pawn.  I can safely escape, but then the rook is guarded by the queen.  I decide to take, with the knight, and trade queens.  I have two passed pawns, so I deem this a good decision.
After coming to a "stalemate" (not literally) with the kings on g5 and g7, I realize I am at a disadvantage on the other side of the board.  I redirect focus over there, and slowly move my king away.
45. bxc4  b4
Here, after I am forced to take, my opponent makes a mistake and pushes instead of taking back.  They assume that my own pawn will block my king, but I am able to catch up, and after taking and the other king taking both of my passed pawns on the g file, I promote with the c pawn.  The rest is promoting, and ladder mate.
I know that in this forum it says to post a game that you lost or maybe drew, and occasionally won, but I think that this was interesting enough.  And I would also really like an answer on the queen "blunder" on the 27th move.  It would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Lazard and Gibaud I think. Might've spelled the last name wrong.

Still what do you mean "a more positional line after 0-0-0"

Avatar of chamo2074

oh ok

Also yeah nice game very instructive

How was this gamble 26 moves of theory though cry.png

I played g4N just because the game we were following in the database was a win for black so I thought If I keep following it I'd lose.... I played g4 in a way to still transpose to a played position but in another move order to trick you

Avatar of chamo2074

which move?

Avatar of chamo2074

I just followed the xplorer ngl

I can't remember if I saw it or not

Avatar of chamo2074

lmao

But I knew I'd end up fine I played this line once and got an equal endgame except I blundered my rook a move later thinking it's all calm
