7. b4 looks extremely odd.

Yes, that makes sense until this is played:

Now any lower rated opponent is going to have trouble.

1. Black is fine after 7...0-0 (8.Bh6 ? Ng6).

2. Though I know close to nothing of the Winawer, I am pretty sure 7...Ne7 is not the main move.

7...Ne7 and 7...Qc7 are the most popular replies. 7...0-0 is the Warsaw Variation. It is an obsecure sideline with very few good results in my database. Wolgang Uhlmann apparently dislikes it, but then again he is a very classical player. Moskalenko thinks it's playable, but he is also of the same opinion as Uhlmann.

I probably got the move order wrong, but that's the idea.

Let's not take this thread into a discussion of the Winawer please.  That's a subject for another thread.   Thank you.

Rarely do threads follow their subject matter.

bladezii

Let's do our best to keep this thread on subject and not hijack.  THe Winawer discussion is not really for this thread.  Thank you.

chesspartha

I think 17.g4 is a good alternative.

forgetmenots26

impressive i want to have plans and annotations alsoo

theliten

It is hard to read the annotations. Can´t one make the board or the commentary field bigger?

bladezii

It is possible for you to have a database or a program to function as such.  Then click on "Get PGN" and that will download the game to your computer.  You can then read the annotations in a more comfortable manner.

I also wish the comments field to be much larger.

I have ChessBaseLight, but Im new to it and I do not know where to paste the code :P

bladezii

Once you download the file, you can right click on the file and choose "Open With"  select chessbase light as the program to open it with.

Cheers.

bladezii

I hope that works for you.

So you are saying that I need ANOTHER program to download the file? Okey, HOW? :PP

Thank you for your notes, it is a very nice game. To me is more important the comments on the game that the concrete variations, so I understand the thinking process.

Somebodysson

not received or perceived as condescending. Helping someone understand is...helpful. You did work to instruct and edify. thanks.

Bradezii,

Good job with the game and comments. Like Claridad93 said, the thinking process is very important in understanding the flow of a game. With all the strong engines out these days , we can find all the best moves to any game.

Once again, thanks and post some more :)
