good sac or lucky win?
yeah i guess that would break up my structure somewhat and bring his black bishop to life.
I had missed that thanks.
It was good fun to play, but i don't normally like playing the first knight sac as it often comes to nothing for me.

yeah axb6 is probably a stronger move. I guess I was looking to trade rooks or force him away from that area to leave pawns a clearer route...
As for 13...Qg4, I suppose I do lose a pawn, but only if we trade queens as well. I didn't spot the move at the time but I don't think I would mind that too much as trading off some pieces wouldn't leave much left to defend the a-b ranks.

18. ...Nf4, black is up the exchange for a couple pawns, white must take knight with bishop or checkmate next move.
I think you just had a better middle game even with all my pressure I couldn't get through. Good Game
You pulled it off but the sac looked dubious to me. I think paulgottlieb found black's best idea on move 15, though I'm also looking at DxC5 first, with the intention of fully bringing black's bishop to life, as another viable alternative, to be followed with the knight sac one move later. Either way, black's army has much more room to move and your pawn superiority is very much nullified by its divided nature (inevitably, both passed pawns will be left isolated and weak). Still, despite black's missed resource, you played phenomenally with a clear strategy in mind. With these realities in mind, this victory is anything but a "lucky win."
