Help! Breaking Pawn Nets

Hello,

This is an illustrative game where I faced a pawn net.

I played white, and she played black. I didn't know her ranking before the game, so I started playing a conservative KIA and it was late when I realized what she was doing.

A pawn net! It seems an amateur joke, but once it's done, it's quite tricky to break. My theory level is very weak so I only won when she made 2 fatal errors. You will notice that in the end. She didn't resign and I had to won her. I needed much more movements than normal to take the win.

Do you have ways of breaking these pawn nets? Could you please give advices in my style/game?

Thank you very much

These pawn nets make some holes. What about manouvering thru these holes using your knights via f1-e3-d5/f5 then support by pawns? Or maybe pawn exchanges via f4/ h4?

Black wasted a lot of time setting this "net" up, so I think your best strategy would be to break open the position playing something like c3-d4 and take advantage of your development. I'm pretty sure not a lot of people do this though, especially in the higher ratings. I wouldn't worry about it.

These nets are a pain, but the few times I've faced them they were from poor players-- after all, who else would do that? I just concentrated on getting my own pieces into good normal development positions.

This one wasn't really a net, but here's a position I had after Black threw pawns at me for the first 10 moves. I decided he must have forgotten about his g-pawn, as he didn't get around to pushing that one until move 19, right after he had tucked his King in behind it! Cool

u should have exploited the fact that black opened the king up in the opening permentantly to be attacked develop the bishop the e2 next time move the knight and start the party

get that light bishop off of g2 and into the fight!  that thing is your best weapon when there are no black pawns on light squares.

Get your knights on b5, d5, or f5, where they can be unnoposed by any pawns.

the h4 pawn break was premature. Get your pieces to good squares, then start opening up the position.

You need to get rid of your dark-squared Bishop (by trading it for a Knight of their's) and put your Knights on the d5/f5 squares ideally. Keep your Queen on light squares too.

Your opponent blundered on move 2. f6 loses the e5 pawn and leads to either a well-known forced move sequence (fxe5, Qh5 +, Ke7) Or a position where you are much better off.
