Why 6. e5? Do 6. Rxg5 Rxg5 7. Qxg5 and black can't stop mate. Or if he doesn't take the rook, 7. Rg7+ clenches it (7. ... Kh8 8. Rxh6# or 7. ... Rxg7 8. Qxh6+ Kg8 9. Qxg7#).
How could black defend?

6. e5 because if 6. Rxg5 I thought that 6...Qxf6 would defend quite well. Not 100% sure.
Paul- Thanks. I didn't notice 5...Rg6 at all, but as of now I don't got time to analyze the position to see what white's best response is. Just skimming over it doesn't seem like white can do much?
Was wondering because to me it seems like black is in trouble. I sort of had this sense in the game, but didn't execute it so well. Just looking over it, it looks like white has a lot of weaknesses too, so was wondering if white was really at the advantage.

Hmm... let's see:
Doesn't look like black can save his queen there. Can anybody counter 8. g5?
Azukikuru- Not so sure if these are the best moves. Be great if someone can check for me. I guess black's defenses are really going to crumble in this position but it feels like e5 might be a better way to finish.
Edit: I messed up on move 5..Qg6. Instead 5...Kg8 is probably better.
Hmm... guess you're right. And 5. ... Kg8 is definitely better because of 6. Be4 which skewers the queen.
Time to put this one through the ol' Shredder:
Hmm... there we go, I guess. We can speculate about other lines, but it looks like they're bound for failure too, since Shredder chose this line.
Azukikuru- Thanks. Missed Qf4. Going back to the original diagram, (as paulgottlieb mentioned) if instead of 5...d5, black plays 5... Rg6 how should white proceed? I can't think of any immediate dangers after 6. Rxg5 Rxf6 7. Rf5 Qd8. Is there a better move order or such?
Sorry, I ran that last analysis on my cell phone and my battery is just about dead.
I'll analyze the 5. ... Rg6 line when I get home in a few hours, if nobody does it before that.
EDIT: Here we go.
Nope, still loses.
Azukikuru- Thanks very much. I guess my questions are answered. Seems like 5..Rg6 would be the best defense but it still loses, but at least no forced mate/queen loss. I found it quite interesting because browsing over it, it looks as though black can be in some trouble. But I felt like white can at most just put a lot of pressure and hope for black to make a mistake, nothing too forced.
From this position, what are the best moves for black and white? I don't have a computer to analyze with so this is the best I can think of, I tend to miss a lot :/.
