how is this a mistake?

I played 11. Ne5 and it was my gamechanging move, i forced a checkmate with that combo.. but analyzer says it's a mistake. how is this a mistake?

Correction, I've just checked it on PC and it says it was not a mistake.. but actually a blunder!! wth?

It was a mistake because it doesn't force mate.

As the analysis shows, there were several good defenses to it.

• Black can castle.
• Black can take the knight on c3 with check and then castle.
• Black can play h5, stopping the queen's entry

Yeah, just saw that h5 and Bxc3+ lines too. Nevermind then, i thought i played a great move

It's because of over-excitement and the unlikelihood of us castling in such an open position that we tend to overlook castling as a possibility.

Maybe I just don't understand but I don't understand the problem.  I admit I don't chat a lot.  When you chat with someone, it stays open until you close it.    Even if you close it, I think it stays available.   Whoever you are chatting with can't see your other activities, chats, messages, etc. 

I think you are saying that this other person was trying to chat with you too.  I don't see the problem. You don't have to accept a chat.  If you do, you can close it whenever you want. 

Now if what someone says is scandalous or abusive, you can report them.

Seems like you have good answers to this particular question. Next time you want to find the answer yourself, you can click on the "analysis" tab at the top (next to Review, where you currently are), and you'll see the engine's preferred lines.  Work through them to understand what was wrong with your idea (or what you missed that would have been better).

Don't worry too much about the engine's nomenclature (mistake, blunder, brillant move, etc).  Look at the ideas the engine wants to play, and if you don't understand why they work, keep playing with them -- put in your assumed refutation and see how the engine refutes it.

This can't answer all your questions -- some positional questions require discursive answers that only a human can give.  But in a lot of cases, like this one, where concrete calculation is needed, the engine can give you pretty clear answers.  If they need more clarity still, don't hesitate to come back.

Chess analyzers use computer logic, they don't think like you and I.

It would be a mistake if pawn takes the knight (red arrow), opening a direct way to the bishop (green arrow) takes the queen.

A second options for move gets an attack from Queen in h5 and mate in 2.    

Instead of take bishop you could castle.
