I like how you mention your looking for a trap. I always do that. I don't know enough theory, so when someone comes up with something crazy I always think "Dang, this must be some clever variation I've never seen that's going to have me hitting resign in about 5 moves".
Way to stick with the fundamentals
4... Qf6?? is the mistake - she probably mixed up this line with 3. Nxe5 Qf6.
After white's 4th move, the "standard" replies are 4... Qg5 and 4... d5. The only other option that comes into consideration is blackburne's suggestion 4... Nf6 - this hasnt been played that much - for no good reason :)
example of continuation after 4.. Nf6: 5. Nf7 Qe7 6. Qxh8 d5 7. Be2 Nc6: probably inferior for white is 7. Bxd5 eg 7... Bg4 8. f3 exf3+ 9. Kf2 Qc5+.
