How to divert opponents attention from secondary attack

Hey all.  Interesting conundrum here.  I was playing earlier today and was about to unleash a devastating attack on my opponent, when he did something i didn't see or expect and essentially won the game.  Here is the game:

As you may (or maybe not) be able to see... I was secretly preparing to fork his king and queen or king and rook, but he didn't notice that that was happening.  what i'm asking is that is there a way to distract an opponent (through chat maybe,  or taking an inordinately long time to move) that would make him/her lose focus?  I only ask because I would like to encorporate such tactics on top of my existing tactics to make them truly sublime.  If i can successfully draw attention away from what actually matters (in this case a secret build up of signifigant threats) then I think my game will truly be world class.

Thank you for your support in advance... I look forward to your suggestions.

Personally, I've found that playing good moves (instead of garbage like Ndb4) will often distract the opponent. It has the added benefit that even if the opponent maintains his focus, you've still played a good move instead of a bad one.

Doing non-chess things (typing in chat, spending lots of time, etc) will not work against most people, especially more experienced, and they aren't reliable.  Why bother?

That said, among beginners, the discovered attack tends to work wonders.  Beginners have learned to see basic threats, but more subtle threats can easily slip through.  A slightly absurd example:

A less ridiculous (and fairly common) example:

Looking for discovered attacks can net lots of material if you keep your eyes open to the possibility.

I just know that there is much more to chess that what is "traditionally" played on the digital board.  I understand that there is "over the board play" where pros can generate lots of over the board threats through simple utterances or threatening body language to gain a commanding psychological advantage. I would like to emulate over the board play through a computer by using techniques, (like chat, or anything in my control that is not a chess piece) to gain an advantage and add another facet of realism to online chess. I would like to take this type of play into the digital spectrum... I would personally find it very distracting and possibly even winning if executed correctly.

Youre not looking to improve, youre just looking to be a jerk.  Untrakcing.

Ruy Lopez de Segura used to recommend setting up the chess-board so that the sun reflected into the opponent's eyes.

One tactic that is said to work is to invite the opponent over to your house for regular games... say, once a week... and before each game, saw half a centimeter off the legs of the chair he uses. As the weeks go by, he will slowly sink into the ground and meanwhile you will seem to grow in stature until you tower over him.

... is this the sort of advice you were looking for?

I don't know the rules....per sey, but if chat is there is it not a tool that can be used for winning, I don't mean being offensive, just distracting...  Maybe I'll need to actually play an "over the board" style (with an actual board and person) to see if i can be a more intimidating, and ultimately better player.

If the chess clock is sitting right there beside the board, can't you pick it up and smash your opponent over the head with it?

I just think that there must be a way to get really good at chess while using all resources at my disposal to my advantage.  For instance...If i got matched with an opponent about 1000 rating points above me and he made an obvious bad move..I could say "good move", and subsequently gain whatever advantage..  If later throughout th course of the game he made a really good move, I would say "good move" and he would associate such feedback with bad moves and that could feed into his decision making process.  This is of course hypothetical... but a very real possibility on this site i think

In what sense is this "getting good at chess"?

If you played an opponent about 1000 points above you, you would get destroyed long before any of this would come into play.
