I had a blind spot!

Today I was playing OTB while playing the computer at chess, but I had a blind spot that I didn't see before? When playing chess you are supposed to think several moves ahead of the player, but I become too confident and then lost!

I guess I shouldn't have moved my pawn and protected my bishop instead?

Do you see a more logical move that I could of played that would have saved me the game?

Yes. You had many ways to proceed safely. The easiest was probably 42 Bd3.

Your right, I should have played bishop to d3 instead. I would have a better chance at defending my king!

I played the same bot again and after a few tries I was able to get a nice checkmate using my knight!
