Greed kills. I play black.

that is satisfying. most people at this level would take that queen thinking the opponent had blundered happy.png

It depends on a time control. In longer games, some would still take it without thinking of course, mesmerized by the beauty of the black queen grin.png, but as this move blunders a back rank mate in 1, most of the people ranked around 1 200 would see it.

Fischer was fond of back rank kills, and said that even very good players miss them and spent a lot of time on it in one of his books (can't recall which but he had a whole big chunk about it).  Nice setup, but what you should do now is ask yourself, and then the engine, whether the move was a GOOD MOVE if your opponent did not take that queen? What is your next move in that scenario?  I know you ran it out with the engines, but maybe actually play vs the computer from there, if you have not.  Black is way ahead, thx to the rook drop, so it should be a won game

Yep. I call the book, "Bobby Fischer Teaches Back-Rank Mates". :-)

I guess chess is a "Big Tent" game.

A 'marquee' event. I'll get my coat...

Tarps are absolutely insane

Yeah, the flying tarp trick - I've seen it a million times...

I hope those were short games (probably, since I don't see any scoresheets). They're so close together that it would be awkward to stand up to walk around.
