This is my game when i played alright. I have annotated it the best i could:

I think I'd keep attacking with 17 ef6 followed by d5. Your up in material and position. Use it; weaken him more. Exchanging pieces might not be best, but it does help make the extra rook pawn more important.

Why you play 8. g3 without playng 9. Bg2. I think you should play 8. cd5 and after that 9. g3 and 10 Bg2 or 9. e3 10. Bd3.

20. Qc2 is blunder 20 Rac1 is better. 21 Ne4?? rook is unprotected.

Yeh i saw that when after the move :S

maniac2008

oh lukey ... it was goin so well for u up until 20.

I think you should get some tactic tarning. And play 1. e4 because it's recommendet to play this move for novice or player with rating < 1800. (I read this on book and on other chess forum meny people say it)

lukeyboy_xx

i like queens gambit though i dont want to play that

demonix

I know that but after 1 d4 you have a closed position with more strategical play. There is meny theory after 1 e4 but you should try. Positions after that are tactical and help better understud chess tactics.

Get a general openning book like Nunn's Chess opennings or Batsford's Chess Opennings, if you can find it. I don't know what's in these days, but I use BCO almost every game to some degree. It takes away the fear of playing into known lines while still giving you tactical games.

Thank you i have been trying to find my favourite opening with game explorer

You played some good moves. Thanks for sharing your game. However, when you play 14. h4 you say that you couldn't think of a good move to make. When that is the case the lastr thing you do is move a pawn forward and certainly don't move the h pawn forward because you are weakening the king's defence. Pawn moves - certainly of that nature - should only be made with specific objectives in mind. You can never move the pawn back. You could have played, for example, 14. Qc2 because that is a harmless move and you can always move it back again later. But even better would be to have a plan.

For move 14 ''14. h4 couldn't really think of a good move to make''

I would have Moved c4 to d3.
Moving the pawn makes the King just that little more vulnrable. Just my opinion though. But you are right, ultimately you were better seing what move the oponent made.

I could give my opinion on other moves too, but we all play differently!

As for end games, that is where I am not so great at eather.

You anotated this game wonderfully! Nice work.

lukeyboy_xx

thank you for the information there

That moving the H- pawn was very useful to me. That will help me in further games to not just do any move but to think of a plan

xMenace

A bad plan is better than no plan Wink
