A very fine example of how being up against a "perceivably weaker" opponent while being "up" is always dangerous--- there's powerful but subtle psychology at play, and most "gimme dat" trophy chaser players tend to egotistically or lackadaisically let their guard down and play more "creatively"(only against weaker opponents though--which is the critical difference) in these situations, thinking their opponent will play right into their guaranteed-to-succeed plans, or outright dismissing their plan entirely, thinking they can just wittle you down to a king hunt and then mate.
This game was a total subconscious fluke-- I had a faint idea that there was stalemate on the board, and opponent probably did too-- they chose not to take my bishop until I gave a check and he took with K, I then made a few more random "feels right" moves with my K, and poof- his victory is gone and we both enter the limbo of humility. I feel they weren't playing too seriously either, being a casual game. Regardless, the concept holds true.
