I do the same thing when going over annotated games. I write out my own analysis of the game first, and then compare it to the annotator and an engine. This helps me in two ways: (1) I don't passively accept their analysis but am critically thinking about it and (2) it helps me focus specifically on the ideas and moves that I missed.

9... Bg4

Pawn up on the very right to go for the Bishop.

Are you referring to 10.h3 instead of 10.Bg5?  If 10.h3, Andy might play 10...Bxf3 11.Qxf3 leaving d4 vulnerable.  If 11.gxf3, that's too bad for White's castled position.  This is why 9.h3 is good.

From my opening knowledge I think you should play h3 in 8 or 9 move.

14. Bxc6: is winning a knight and getting a tempo on the rook and it locks your opponents C & D & E pawns up plus it disables your opponent from placing a big piece on A8 or E8.
