My favorite game on chess.com thus far - still played poorly

I just finished analyzing a game I won (and really enjoyed - not only because I won, but how I felt myself envisioning the endgame, which I've never done. It was like falling into another dimension happy.png) .

Even though the time was only 15|10, majority of which I spent on 1-2 moves which pretty much dictated the game.

Now my problem here is that I don't realize what I nor my opponent did wrong. Even though I'd give my position at the end a little plus, I feel the game would've still ended with a draw if my opponent didn't blunder.

Plus a few tips on how to better annotate/analyze my games would be wonderful.

I've never had a chess coach, and am self taught with books. So I never had someone looking at my games to determine my strengths/weaknesses, until I discovered this forum. I hope you guys could help me out, and I hope you enjoy the game as well.

Thank you in advance

You might have mentioned that you won on time.

He had ample amount of time, he just let it run out. Game is won regardless

I completely missed it probably due to time pressure. I posted this game for the strategy though

If your going to play a theoretical line like the kings indian you really can;t afford not to know any opening theory. 5.f3 is the Saemisch variation one of the most popular and highest scoring lines against the kings indian! Not a strange move!

True. I re-analyzed the game a while ago and updated some variations

Btw, I'm fairly new to classic openings, I used to play a bunch of crazy random gambits, I just decided to study and play proper openings

There are plenty of openings you can get away without much theory, sadly kings indian isnt one. You will just get rolled over by white in lots of lines without white even having to do much thinking! I'd recommend reading the Joe Gallagher books  as they will give you a pretty decent starting out repertoire
