It's not really an analysis if you don't give any comments on the game..

5...c5 is really anti-positional and creates a backward d-pawn. White failed to exploit this however.

White just gave you the open file, and soon after helped you to deliver a quick mate. So you played better than your opponent here.

yeah, it was a case of the opponent losing than me winning. Laughing

thanks

Generally speaking 4...Nxd4 was also somewhat antipositional. It's good to lure the opponent queen in the open if you can attack her with logical moves. In this position the queen was simply on a very powerful centralized square, since c5?! was weak for the reason already mentioned (and also because it reduces your DSB mobility). 4...Nxd4 is not totally unplayable but both Nf6 and Bc5 are more logical.

I did not like the idea of 5 Nxc6 dxc6

Also, I did not realise he would offer to exchange Queens .

Realise now what Flier meant about comments on the game. Will try to do that with the next one I lose Tongue out

4...Nf6 5.Nxc6 is usually met with 5...bxc6, keeping the queens on the board.

4...Bc5 5.Nxc6 bxc6 is also ok but the in-between move 5...Qf6 is usually played, and B can  now play 6...dxc6 in some variations, without offering a queen exchange.

Thanks for that.

4...Bc5 5.Nxc6 Qf6 looks promising

Hope to try it out next time

I forgot to add that if you absolutely want to avoid an exchange of queens 6.Qf3 is a problem in that line. 4...Nf6 might be better for the purpose of getting a sharp fight.
