I'm white .
On move three you could have taken your opponents knight.
Also I have is chessmaster 10th edition. I have chessmaster 9000. does 10 have josh Waitzkin with annotated games.
Why not taking the Knight on move 3 ? Well, i don't know.
As i said, i tried to do most of the thing i've learned and one of them was "do not move one piece too much". Well, i guess i should think more by myself and stop acting from a mechanical thinking :)
That is the thing that I hate about chess master - At lower levels it plays one stupid move then plays like a grandmaster then plays another stupid move then plays like a grandmaster. A 1200 human would have not left that knight hanging. Any idiot would have seen that. And I assume this player just didnt take it well because he was playing against the almighty chessmaster and figured there must be a trap or something because there is no way chessmaster would do that! Chessmaster at lower levels is outright ridiculous so dont be afraid to take all the pieces it decides to just give away to lower its strength instead of just playing weaker moves that dont outright give away pieces.
on move 19, instead of giving your opponent a passed pawn, you could have taken the dangerous pawn with your own.
I guess you just have to look for smart captures. and remember that the game is not entirely about pawns. (you have to coordinate your other pieces as well)
Pawns are really an exception for the "dont move one piece too many times." The only peoples you really shouldnt be moving twice are your queens, bishops and knights.
beowulf Black could have done better than that On move 17 or18 black would have played Qa4 check and won the c4 pawn. Also black would have taken the f pawn en passant on move 14 instead of withdrawing the rook.
I think maybe play 25 games or so before posting for more help, and annotate your own games first. That's where you really learn. I personally don't put much effort into helping others if they don't do their own work first. I learned at least that much from masters ;)
nice start, u could probably won if you could save the last pawn and promote it but well done anyway...
try to remember that every piece have it worth (p=1,b=n=3,r=5,q=9) so if you get an offer for exchange pawn for knight you should take it and another thing that a passed pawn is almost worth the same as a queen
Hey Guys.
I'm quite new in chess. Bought Chessmaster 10th edition a month ago and started learning via the Academy there's in there.
Today i played my first game in a rated game against an 1200 player. I'll be glad to here comments about the game.
As i learned in the academy - my main goal was to build a good pawn stracture or a passed pawns toward the end game and also weaken his pawns by double pawns.
In the buttom line - The game was drawn and i'll be happy to here any comments or reviews. Could i won this game ? Keep in mind that this is my first real "long" chess game :)
Thank you in advance !
Lauren.
