Lately my chess has been total garbage. I study and play almost every day and still nothing. I just keep getting worse and worse. I need some help.

I hate reading so please don't give me books, I watch a lot of videos on openings and basic strategies. I like to think I have a decent understanding of the game....but yeah apparently not.

I hate being such a patzer please can anyone help me out. Why am I so bad.

I just started getting into a chess club but everyone is 2000+ and I just get smoked every game. This game is so frustrating, but I feel like it would be so rewarding if I was good at it. I love the game but hate all the loses. Loses over stupid moves, in games I think I should be winning in.

I feel like a moron

I'm a patzer too, but here's what I'm seeing from your analysis that differs from my perception of ideal chess playing

1) You psyche yourself out

Reading your analysis, you seemed to magnify threats that just HAD to be taken care of. In the second game the knight on c5 is intimidating, but it's really not accomplishing much other than putting pressure on e4. It's strong, but your long diagonal black bishop targeting the kingside seems stronger to me--even if you were to trade it off, why not put the bishop on d4? It still has the a1-h8 diagonal while threatening to take the knight any time if it got too dangerous. You seemed to be a bit cramped but doing fine in the first game, but once you panicked it was all over, wasting multiple tempo and letting your opponent get the upper hand. The discovered attacks he was threatening would at most win him a pawn. Even when you lost a pawn that didn't mean game over: your queen wasn't trapped, and you had enough pieces and he had enough positional instability for you to keep up the fight.

2) You don't take advantage of what you have

Consolidation as you were trying achieve in the first game is very important, but you could have probably played somewhat more aggressively. Especially in the second game, you had many opportunities to take the initiative by threatening a kingside attack: by the time you began to try a pawn push, black had gotten back on its feet after about 50 knight moves. Exploiting your bishops, possibly doing a sac, may have won you the game.

3) You're playing bullet

Ever seen a nutrition poster? "Cut down on junk foods" Bullet can make you learn to premove safely and flag people, but the benefits largely stop there. You can still improve your game, if your game consists largely of hanging pieces and flagging people. 15|10 is nice, keep it up

4) You're probably not taking full advantage of Chess.com

The computer analysis may help you catch your mistakes and where you went wrong, if not anything else worth mentioning. Tactics trainer helps you catch the multiple times you could have won material or gained an advantage, and reading up on other people's games will help you improve your own.

Also, read books /s
