new guy, need explanation on a move

just starting out , purchased "chess for dummies" by James Eade. on page 84 he explains how to get checkmate. but it seems like an error to me. I'll set it up for you. its the opening and th black has Nd6 and e5, the white has Qh5 and its whites move. Mr Eade writes that the white queen can capture the pawn (Qxf7#) and announce the cry of victory: "checkmate".  My confusion with this move is that it seems that once the white queen makes the Qxf7 move , it is now blacks move and the king can now capture the white queen (Kxf7). please set me straight. Paul

While it is possible to checkmate your opponent in 4 opening moves, what I call the "4-move fools gold mate", we need to see the position of the pieces on the board to determine if your situation is valid...

if the queen is guarded by another piece then capturing it with your king would be moving into check and therefore illegal
