Beautiful game!
Peter Large's Greatest Games
Played the following year against GM Speelman. Again both players cancelled each other out with a series of great moves.
Nice! A Caro Exchange! Surprised he didn't play the Panov.
Back in 1990 Speelman was already rated 2610, making him not just the top player in the tournament but also one of the best players in the world. With that consideration, the Exchange variation is a much safer option than the Panov.

Doesn’t the Panov come from the Exchange?

You are right. I was confusing the Panov with the Accelerated Panov.

Aaah.
Many of you have seen Peter under his alias @plimsol on this site. He always has a few hundred games on the go, and has played more than 80,000 games on this site over the years.
Here I will present a few games that are, IMHO, some of his best ones.
The first of these is against one of the greatest players of all time.
