Please explain to me why this didnt castle

Im confused as to why the castle failed in this game. I wasnt in check. I had not yet moved either my rook or my king, and when I attempted to castle - it just simply moved my king by one space.
I eventually did win the game - but I was crippled for 70% of it.
My screenshot upload was removed....anyways - it was move 10 below.
