Poor Play leads to Draw

I wouldn't beat myself up over this game because it was played well on both sides.  I would say that endgame studies (especially Rook and Pawn endings) may have changed the outcome.

An example would be the three pawn chain that Black had at the end.  Compared to the doubled and isolated pawns for White, Black had fighting chances.  The draw became a necessity after that chain was offered up for exchange.

Check how much time you gave yourself between moves and whether you considered this ending to be basic.  I would say that it wasn't and that it needed to be treated with the same amount of time as a complicated opening or middle game.  Fewer pieces sometimes give rise to more variations and complexity...
