lol

My opponent wanted to be up a pawn and hung onto it for too long. He was eventually gonna lose a piece no matter what he did

smiley_face10

ya. I play the queen's gambit as well.

I just played a nice game as black recently with a lot of tactical moves. I probably won't write bigger explanations like I normally would but I will show the tactics on the board to cover that(I'm kind of too lazy to spend half an hour just typing lol).

ArcaneTheDragon

My best game so far:

only one inaccurate move
smiley_face10

you certainly did well spotting your opponents mistakes but try not getting yourself into those situations where you weaken your kingside and damage your own pawn structure(that was the one inaccuracy you played).

ArcaneTheDragon

I'm not sure how 5. Nc6 weakens the kingside.

If your opponent were to play knight e5 they would've been able to start an attack and damage your kingside because of the pin. Not only that but doubled pawns are always a weakness and your king becomes more open and vulnerable to your opponents attacks. Instead they moved their bishop back which ended up giving away their entire advantage and from there you smoked him.

ArcaneTheDragon

And that was the queenside. (and doubled pawns aren't always a weakness)

mb sorry. Yes doubled pawns aren't always a weakness but they would be in this situation and while they aren't always a weakness from the start longterm they can become a loose end.

ArcaneTheDragon

When they capture it goes from 0.8 -> 0.2, which means a draw and is equal to me playing e4.

no no. You dont capture right away. There is a follow up on the review as well and if you pay attention it stays at 0.8 the whole time. right now i dont expect you to find those sort of sequences because they are kind of hard to spot and you are a beginner(tell me if I'm wrong. I got that idea simply because it says you joined 6 days ago). I'm just saying don't make moves that could end up leading to situations like that.

wow that was a really nice game. That checkmate sequence was amazing but why did you play the englund gambit??? also I know that was a bullet game but that was a lot of misses...

chessdudes1234

I premove e5 in bullet a lot because most opponents go e4 instead of d4

oh ok. thats fair. when I'm black in bullet I like to just premove the caro-kann because almost everyone plays either e4 or d4 and either way works since if then play d4 it just becomes the slav defense.
