Posting games that you won

This is a thread about game analysis, so I'm putting it in the game analysis forum. If it should go somewhere else, please accept my apologies and tell me where I should have put it instead. (General discussion?)

It appears to me that the majority of games people post are games that they themselves won.

My question, basically, is: Why do you do this? It seems frankly bizarre to me. Aren't you going to learn more from examining the games you lost?

But maybe I'm missing something.

why do you care what other people post.  they arent necessarily posting it to try and learn something, they are just proud of their game..

I don't find that, the majority of games in that catagory are losses. Game showcase is where I see a lot of wins

I will post a win because chess is an art, and I like to show off the artistry for others to appreciate, when you get a chance check out the game I won with two pawns and a bishop verse four pawns and a rook, I checkmated with a king and a pawn right when his pawn queened. Its a beautiful game.

I guess it doesn't say much about me as a person that when I win a game like that, I don't think "this is a beautiful game" but rather "too bad my opponent screwed up like that."

Your way is probably better. :D

It depends on how you did win. You can win in two ways:

1. You slaughterd your opponent, because he blundered his queen in the opening or

2. It was a difficult game and in this case it isn't wrong to post it and let it analyse. If you e.g. think move 36 from you was "!" because of some reason and someone analysise your game and says no since your opponent played it bad! Well, you learned something i guess.
