Probably the most epic checkmate ever

I'd recommend citing the players who played in this game so there is no ambiguity as to whether or not you created (or played) this.

Nice. One of the more ball-sier queen sacrifices I've seen.  White would/should have calculated the whole sequence out which speaks volumes for his analysis skills if this was from a OTB tourney.

I remember a Vishy Anand game that ended with 0-0-0 mate.

[Loomis] Well he could, but I don't see anything wrong with just posting a mate you like; I don't think it has to have a certain amount of details. Would it really be that bad if some people thought he did it? Of course, this was the edward lasker game, although Kd2 mate was played instead.

Contrary to what seems to be the most popular opinion, I actually liked Kd2 mate. I liked how the king so smoothly and nonchalantly danced forward, just to free up his rook, whereas 0-0-0 seemed less elegant, as the king is just hiding away. But there is some obsession people have with the checkmate or even just check involving castling; personally I like the check and mate involving specifically kingside castling because somehow it seems so much harder to achieve; that game Morphy played comes to mind.

Edward Lasker was white I forget who the other guy was, I technically only created the last move as Lasker finished him by moving his king to d2 I just thought castling looked a little nicer. The game was played around 100 years ago.

Wow. This is epic!

looks brutally elegant to me...forcing the K to run all the way down into enemy territory with no options other than to shorten the game further...would never have seen this coming! Thanks for posting this no matter whose game it really is.

it was Edward Lasker - Sir George Thomas, who was a strong English player in the early 20th century.
