Question on analysis, what am I missing here?

what am I missing here?

The analysis says I "ignored an opportunity to take an open file with a rook."

It advises that moving my rook to e1 is the move I should have made so I can control the E File.

However, did it not see that the dark bishop on B4 can take the rook on E1 if I moved it there.

So, again, what am I missing here?

Without looking at the analysis, your move isn't worse than the suggestion, but likely has to do with getting the bishop away from protecting f8.

Probably it wants you to distract the b4 bishop from defending the f8 square so you can skewer the a8 rook. But then comes the question: why can't you do it with Qg8+, to win a rook through a skewer, because the knight is pinned?

No, it wants you to continue with Bf5, acheckmate threat, and the checkmate is now inevitable. So it wanted you to distract the bishop from defending the e7 square, so the bishop can't go to e7 after you play Bf5

That's it. There was an inevitable checkmate after Bf5. OK? Your opponent can't stop you

Also remember that there is self-analysis possibility, so you can see the moves that the engine wants you to play yourself

Thank you Hripfria202.

Honestly, that combination is above my skill level at this time but maybe in the future.

While I was playing I was mainly concerned with not blundering my big advantage.

The most interesting point is that the "explanation" given by the Game review software is complete nonsense. And everyone just ignores it. As always.

At higher review depth depth it's just listed as a good move.
