Quick finish - Target fixation

So... I am thinking about the ending to this very short game and how it went down and just want to hear what people think or if they have examples of a similar vein, of seeing that your opponent is fixated on gaining one piece that you set up a mate or similar.

I chose to not take the forking knight with my knight (not sure what they thought they were doing as the square was still guarded after moving my Queen, at best they were losing a knight).
So yeah, moved my King to ensure they are fixated on their next move being to capture my Rook in order that they don't even think about whether or not it is really a good idea...as it happened it wasn't

I think if I had have taken the knight that they may have sat back and actually thought for a moment and probably, possibly, realised what I had set up. Agree?
