I am in search of a chess coach to provide biweekly online instruction at an agreed upon time.  In addition the coach must be able to supply good instruction for the direction of study.  I am eastern time and work during the day M-F.  I have a good amount of time I'd like to dedicate to the study of chess.

Rate: $60/Month to include:

  • Bi-Weekly Instruction (Online) - 1 Hour Sessions
  • Assign a direction of study fit for the students ability and learning style
  • Monitor student progress and assess change to direction of study as needed.
  • Answer student e-mail questions
  • Review enough student games to assist in biweekly instruction
  • Within the first month work with student to establish attainable goals based on student's ability and time constraints for study.

***The above is only a suggestion as to services delivered.  Coaches are encouraged to send a resume and proposal to gotmate@gmail.com.  Payment will be made via paypal on the first of the month before services are received.

I have no official rating, but if I had to guess my USCF rating would be around 1100 - 1200.  I am limited to English but will not discriminate against those that speak English as a second language.  One important attribute I would like in my coach is someone who gets personal satisfaction from seeing a student improve.  An individual with a strong rating and experience in instructing adults would be highly desired.

I follow NM Dan Heisman on twitter and have read some of what he's written in his column on Chess Cafe.  To me, he makes a lot of sense about things that could really benefit adults who want to improve at chess.

His website is here.

His most recent Novice Nook column is hereHere's a link to the archives of his older articles.

You might contact Dan and see if he's interested in your terms.  He's a full-time chess instructor.
