the decision to en passant is not up to you but you're opponent. if he doesnt want to take it then he continue straight but if he does then he clicks the diagonal square but i guess if u were the person who gets the choice then same explanation

I played this game against my friend, who is better at chess than me generally but i know him to be a bit rash when offered hanging pieces. This allowed me to get an big advantage right away, also because he blundered there. After that the game progressed and I felt I was playing way too defensively, just waiting out even trades and setting up my pieces. I thought I wasn't using my advantage, but according to the engine I played with 97% (!) accuracy!. I normally play between 70% and 80%, although the 97% rating might be inflated because of my early advantage, which I never had before. Still a good sign the engine thinks I played the game out well.
Still really proud of this game, and happy to see my studying reflected in the game!

I'd have taken advantage of the fact that his bishop was pinned to the queen and I'd attempt to capture it or simplify and seek an exchange of queens

I got up to 750 at some point but lost a few, now on the grind towards 800, then 900. I'd be happy to just get to 900.
