Hi! i'm new to chess and i'm just wondering why the game gave me a stalemate here? I feel like I won this easily!?

Baisiclly when opponent don't have any figure on board and you "cut" a enemy's king moves he can't no longer play because of that, at the end is't draw. If u wanna checkmate enemy king u must have protetced figure who attack king and "cut" all others king's moves.PS: Sorry for my poor english, i am glad if you understand my comment. grin.png

Stalemate is a glitch and hopefully chess.com will remove it on April 1.

They should make Pawns move backwards for April Fool's Day.

Note that 1. Nc3 (Nc6/Na6/Nh6) is a loss for black, only legal move that isn't mate is Nf6

seems a bit silly to me.. I clearly won?

Yeah this can be annoying but when the opponents king doesn't have any legal moves to make it results in a draw

Stalemate is not a glitch. It happens regularly.

In the US April 1 is known as April Fools Day where silly things can be suggested or done.  Suggesting that a "glitch" be fixed on April 1 is a way of indicating that "glitch" is a silly term for it.

Tbh it okay to promote pawns to queens if you know what you are doing 2 days ago i had 4 queens and one bishop and won the game

My point is that it is HARDER to win with four Queens than it is with one.

I thought it's easier to win with 4 queens than it is with one because checkmate with four queens is the same like checkmate with two rooks (or rook and queen)

Stalemate becomes far more likely with a board full of unnecessary pieces.

Yeah two queens on the board is the max you need

Stalemate is a bad rule
